5 Ingredients Or Less: Avocado Cheese Toast


If you’re looking for a no muss, no fuss lunch you and your little one can enjoy together, this Avocado Cheese Toast is your answer.  It’s ready in less than 5 minutes, uses less than 5 ingredients, and is loaded with vitamins, potassium, calcium, fiber, and heart-healthy, brain-boosting fats.  And did I mention it’s absolutely delicious?  As you can see by Audrey’s face, she is a fan.

Avocado Cheese Toast

9 months + up

Serves 2

  1. 4 pieces 100% whole-grain or whole-wheat bread (use gluten-free if necessary)

  2. 1/2 large or 1 whole small ripe avocado

  3. Pinch of sea salt

  4. 2 tablespoons cream cheese

  5. Freshly ground black pepper, optional

Toast bread.  In a small bowl mash avocado and salt with a fork.  Spread cream cheese on each piece of toast; top each slice with mashed avocado.  Sprinkle with black pepper, if you’d like.  Serve open-faced.
